Hi everyone. This is my first post, so I have a few questions. I have been reading for a few weeks and everyone here seems very helpful. I'm looking foward to some fun.

Although I'm new to the board, I'm not new to recording at all, as I have a degree in Recording Industry. But like my subject says, I have some questions.

I have been looking at the Mindprint DI, and have seen some great things about it. My question is, where can it be purchased here in the US? I did a search on the board here but nothing came up. Also, I did find it one place, but it was $399. Isn't that a little high compared to what I understand others paid?

Also, I have been looking at the KRK/Hafler combo in Musician's Friend. I know some of you have it or have that amp. What kind of inputs does it have on it? Are they 1/4 inch? Just curious.

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

I have that Hafler amp (the TA1100)...very nice with clean power and pretty punchy for the price.....they have 1/4" balanced and RCA unbalanced inputs.......

i tried those rokits at Guitar Center and they were ok, but i rather my Proto J's....MF has that package for $349......

Thanks for the quick response on the Hafler.

I listened to the Proto J's at Mars and really wasn't too pleased with them. Too much mids for my taste. But that is the way monitors are. They are a very very subjective piece of gear.

Glad you enjoy yours and the amp!

I don't know if the deal is still going on, but I would call around to any/all of the Sam ash stores in your area, and see if they still have any in stock. They were blowing it out for $200 not too long ago.

I have the KRK Rokit Hafler TA1600 combo and like it alot. I also prefer thr KRKs over the Proto Js. I liked the Event 20/20s even more, but they were too big for my space.

The mindprint, that is. :) :)

Thanks alot for the heads up. We have a Sam Ash in Nashville, so I'll call there later today. Much appreciated!

And thanks for more praise on the KRKs. I'm planning on getting them next week.

Haflers are incredible amps! Although they are overpriced. If you need something with more power and less cost, try the samson servo 260. its 130 watts per channel @ 8 ohms, verses the 1100's 50. The only difference is the samson isnt quite as flat as the hafler.

The Samson amps are pretty crappy and nowhere near the same league as the Haflers - especially the Hafler P-series.......

The question on my mind, Bruce, is how does the P1500 or P3000 stack up to the TA 1100 type of amp in either the 50W or 75W configuration? Power considerations aside. Just noise floor.
Because 75W will do what I need in my studio.

That's the first time I ever heard someone say that Hafler amps were overpriced, especially since they are known throughout the industry by pros and amatures alike for making professional quality products that are affordable to the masses.

drstawl, the TA series uses the same Transnova technology Hafler uses in the P series. They are very quiet, very transparant. IMO it would be one of the best purchases you ever made, and you should pay no more than $249--that's what GC was selling the 1600 (75 watt) for in March 02.

i have the TA1100 and self noise is practically non-existant.....its a very quiet unit........

My only complaint on the hafler 1100 is that the headphone output does'nt defeat the speaker outputs.

I wasn't talking about Hafler TA series, but rather hafler in general. The Yorkville Amps (sr 300) are much cheaper and about the same quality, for just one comparisson.

I disagree........
