Ok, who out there has succumbed to the marketing ploys of Cakewalk, their incessant emails, seminars, advertising etc. I am proud to say I resisted getting gaga over the rumors last month of the new release. I also resisted their email onslaught to my inbox.
The seminars are not even remotely tempting as they are too far from my house. Hollywood? I would not go there after dark.
The advertisements looked a little interesting and there are some new features I might want to play with but the upgrade price of $229 seems a little steep. So even though the new features look compelling I have held out through several magazine ad temptations and have felt quite good about my decision to hold off.
Tonight their flash movie of the new features was in my inbox in the latest email. I watched about 5 seconds... Hmm. The submix bus looks pretty cool. 10 seconds... The inline parametric is just outstanding. 15 seconds.... adjustable track widths. That would be nice for stacking more tracks on the screen. 20 seconds...... 30 seconds.... Flash movie over.....
OK I BROKE DOWN!!! I know I am a slovenly lo and weak minded creature. I tried to stop my hand as it moved towards my credit card. It seemed like it wasn't me; ghost hands typing the numbers into the order screen at Cakewalk.
I'm a mindless Cakewalk junkie, I could not help myself. More sugar, gotta have more sugar......
