Synth accordion? It's a harmonica! [Accordion notes don't bend...I was real proud of the trill I manufactured on the last blue note of the solo! All the programs in my cheep racksynth sound like accordion!! D'oh! I have more issues with the fake violin...had to fetch that from my antique Kerzweil....the Roland XV50/80's solo violins sound like....accordion.] :^)
I isolated the ride track...and checked the midi...it was done on a pad, unquantized and un-messed with. The velocities are all over the place...I guess that's the best I can do with it. Unless I get a real ride. The snare and brushes are real!! [Greg should give me an 'attaboy']
The crash is always the same. I tried to imagine a bunch o' country boys in a barn in 1938. The kits had, traditionally...when goatskin was all there was...only that little splash. The bass sounds woofy cuz of the bluegrass disco bass drum on 4/4....tried to make it sound real authentic 1938. The effect I got was intended. Boomy is good, I think?
The harmony in the bridge is strange....harmonic minor passing tones....but passes my personal smell-test.
I faked the mando by capoing at 9, and double tracking to mimic double strings. I kept a feedback buster in the hole, and mic'd the soundboard. No cigar. OK...but I need real instruments.
As long as it's not harsh, of hissing, I feel safe! :^) I'm definitely not looking to make this one sound slick....
TX for the listen and critique...xo
