I am doing a recording project, and I am going to be miking an extraodinary cool amplifier, as soon as the original Jensen speaker is reconed. It is a 1959 Gibson Invader with Reverb. Its awesome, the stomp box for the reverb is made out of wood!!
I recently had the amp restored to its orignal attitude. Anyway, I have a Behringer 4 input mixer and a Tascam 424MKIII to work with. I need some advice as to which mike I should use to record the amplifier. I have the following assortment:
1. 2 Marshall MXL 604 (overhead for drums) mikes.
2. ElectroVoice MC 150 Dynamic mike (vocal).
3. Audiotechnica ATM27HE vocal (hypercardioid Dynamic Lo-Z)
4. Audix drumpak Fusion series 3-d10 / 1-d12 (bass drum)
Thanks guys....
p.s. Any idea which of the listed mikes would most closely resemble a Shure57 to record my snare drum as well?
