hi guys, i just want to know how to make a midi track to a audio track??

i am using cubase sx with an audigy card

Nope sorry, no can do. It's just not possible.

You can extract the rythm from the track, but not make a MIDI-track.

That is, unless you're prepared to shell out for Melodyne... ;)

That was a bit incomplete there, moskus...

Tomy, moskus is right that you can't convert a MIDI file to audio. What you can do is record the MIDI sequence while it plays.

I don't know Cubase's interface, but with an Audigy the process is something like this:

Enable a fresh audio track.
With the Windows mixer utility, make sure the soundcard to record from the MIDI synth (not from "What U Hear").
Mute everything you don't want to record (if there's a metronome click, disable that).
Hit record.

When you're done, the audio track should now contain a recording of what you heard being played by the onboard synth.

Mute the MIDI track before you play back your new audio track or you'll get some comb filtering between the two.

thanks a lot but......

i knew this way to make midi into audio track, but i dunno y it doesn't work when i am using VST, i just can record midi to audio when i only using SB! soundfont... why:??!!

You should be able to record the VST output. It's just in the WAV stream anyway, unlike the output from the SB synths, which needs to be routed in there.

In SONAR they made it easier, you select the VST track and use a command called Bounce to Track(s), and it does it toot sweet without your having to create a new audio track, enable it, and record off the WAV Out stream yourself... maybe Cubase has a similar means?

Surely the manual tells how to do this?
