midi track importing from guitar pro or power tab

I have a buddy that told me that you can import midi drum tracks from power tab or guitar pro into your daw to be triggered by your ez drummer or whatever. Does anyone know how to do this, I would love to figure this out if anyone knows how to do this, that would be awesome.

Erm.. open up your DAW and find a Track command and Import Midi track...

That's how it's done in Reaper. Your DAW may be different.

Pretty simple as long as you know where the file is living...

Make sure it's a MIDI file though. Guitar Pro files aren't MIDI by nature although I'm sure it can output a MIDI file. Assuming you have Guitar Pro that is..;.

Yeah, that is how I did it. I used guitar pro, export as midi track. Then import midi into sonar. Worked like a charm, I do wonder how you can export only the drum tracks though. It said to mute the other channels, but it still includes them when I export the midi.
