MIDI setup?

I am trying to break into the world of midi. I use Adobe Audition and am trying to record from a Radio Shack midi keyboard. Do I have to use a midi control box or can I go straight in with a turtle beach midi/USB cable? Thanks for any advice.

The midi to usb cable should work just fine for that. You won't need a bigger midi control box until you start hooking up multiple midi devices.

I don't know in newer version, but last time I checked my Adobe Audition 1.5 doesn't support MIDI. It can trigger MIDI event or controlled by MIDI controller, but it's deffinitely not a MIDI sequencer...

Sorry I have "Record Producer Midi" to record the Midi and then adobe audition to mix the final audio. Thanks for the advice
