I'm using cakewalk home studio 2002. I'm just beginning so I'm trying things out. I have a Midi keyboard. When I record it with cakewalk and play it back it plays it back on my keyboard. Does anyone know how I get it to play back on my computer instead of my keyboard?

I dont have the HS but you need to change the midi playback device in HS.
Check HS help and look for Midi Playback devices.

Go to "Options > Midi Devices" and check the midi channels you are using. Then go to "options > Instruments" and now map the channels on the left with General midi or any synth (like your yamaha) on the right.

I am not familiar with Home Studio 2002 (I have Sonar 2.2XL).

You will need to turn LOCAL off on your keyboard.

Try inserting the Edirol VSC into your project and changing the output of your recorded MIDI track to the Edirol VSC.
