I recorded a drum track with Roland V drums live. I would like to isolate all the closed high hat hits and make the velocity the same to even out my crappy high hat playing. Anyone know how this can be done, or if it even can be done. I tried using pointer and selecting the whole row. I do get them selected, but stuck from there. Would be great to overide whats there and reset overall velocity somehow. Any ideas. Thanks

Go into piano roll view. Click on the piano key that relates to the closed hi hat (probably F#) so that the entire row is highlighted.

Then go to Process > Midi Effects > Cakewalk FX > Velocity.

Choose the setting for "set all velocities to" and type in the velocity you want.

IMO, however, setting all velocities for a hi hat to the same setting will sound robotic and not very realistic. A real drummer doesn't play like that.

Thanks for the know how. I think your right. I lowered the volume in the mix a bit and it sounds better.
