MIDI question regarding Yamaha synth

hello everyone....


ok this is what i have... a Yamaha PSR 270 Keyboard (with general MIDI) and a SB live! sound card... Tell me, How do I get my yamaha to work as a Midi controller? Im vey new to this and I'd appreciate it if someone showed me how to set this stuff up. Thanks!

i bought a soundblaster that came with a midi cable for connecting a keyboard to the soundcard.... they don't seem to be supplying this cable with the sb live...so you need a cable that's going to have a standard midi output on one end and a game port type connector on the other end...if you use the live drive , though, you can just use a standard midi cable.....

after that. it's just a matter of making sure that your keyboard matches the channels in your software for basic midi crap.
