Is this possible? I am using CPA9 and soundfonts for my drums, bass etc. I have an SBLIVEMP3 card and a Darla 24. I would like my midi tracks in Cakewalk to play back through my Darla/monitors. Is this at all possible. I have a POD running into both inputs on the Darla. Hoping I didnt buy the wrong card for me to do this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Convert to Wave ?

Hi Big Daddy,
I think that almost anything is possible - don't know enough about your set-up to get specific. The ideal thing to do, is record your midi file as a wave and then play it back thru darla. After all that is what darla does best.

Bluesdaddy,
I use a Darla, Cakewalk and a Soundblaster Live (ewwww).
When I am recording and playing back the MIDI sequences to and from my keyboard I have to use the Soundblaster MIDI. The Darla card is for recording and playing back the actual audio tracks(WAV) and not MIDI. I do not know anything about the MP3 card so I can't say how you might do it with that. Look in the manual for that SB card and see what it says for the MIDI on it.
So after pondering this depending on the outputs on your other card you might be able to loop the output from the SB to the input into the Darla, then record a fresh audio track with the Darla card. Anyway good luck, there is always a way.

IMHO of course

Huh?

bball jones,
Come again? I am a newbie on this site yes. Not a newbie in music and home recording at all. I have played in working bands for about 11 years. Played music for about 20 years now. I have been into homerecording for about 5 years. I have used Cakewalk for about two years now, I am considering dumping Cakewalk for Cubase though.
I have a pet III 600 mhz 128ram 13gig, Darla 24,SB Live, Sony MDM X-4II, Korg N364, Boss Dr. Sample, various guitars and bass's. My main instrument is percussion but I also play, guitar, bass, keyboard, trumpet, and a few others. Went to Metro College of Denver for 2 1/2 years as a music preformance major, then ran out of money :-(

What's the deal?
