Is Windows' Midi Playback Device (in Sound/Audio options in the control panel) built into a soundcard? Mine is "Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth", and I hate it.
I use Guitar Pro 5.2 to write music for my band, and I love using RSE. However, I need to use ASIO4ALL as RSE's output, because otherwise it is out of sync with regular MIDI. I used to have a soundcard with a different Midi Playback Device, so I was able to use ASIO4ALL, but that soundcard doesn't work anymore. Instead, I'm using my onboard soundcard (a SigmaTel HD), which uses the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth. ASIO4ALL doesn't have support for this, so RSE works terribly. Could I download some type of midi replacement software, or do I need to buy a new soundcard?
I'd appreciate any help or advice on what to do.
