Does anyone know if it is possible to mix the seperate midi channels after inserting a midi file. I know that I can solo one at a time , but was wondering what the best way was to be able to choose as many or little of the midi tracks for monitoring in CEP

CEP has very limited MIDI playback capabilities. You are beter off mixing the MIDI portions of your mix in another program and exporting the result as a wave file to be imported to CEP.

I mostly the need the mixing ability for tracking. A friend of mine is
recording live electric viola over his MIDI compositions and at times needs less or more of something to make it easier for him to lay down his track. Anyway, here is one way to do it
Insert/ MIDI file.....than back to Insert/File cue list ( midi file will be there and CEP will copy it to another track ) Put the midi file in as many times as you wish. then on each seperate midi track go to edit/active track. You can only choose one specific track or all the tracks from a given midi file, but by having copies of the midi file on different tracks, you can select one voice at a time per track and have mixing control with the channel vol faders. It is actually much quicker to set this up than it would appear LOL
