Midi Latency ???

When I used my cheap Hercules Sound Card I had serious latency problems while playing VST-Instruments. Now, with a Terratec DMX 6-Fire, the VST-latency-problem is solved. But as this card can not play midi sounds, I left the old card in my computer. But the latency with normal GM-Sounds is terrible. Any ideas? Thanks!

MIDI doesn't ask much from your system, so usually it is not the MIDI data that causes the latency, but the audio output of it.

I don't really know that soundcard, did you check your audio preferences?
