Hi everybody.
I hope I didn't break the rules of this forum. I've already posted this message in another section, but a kind guy who replied to my question suggested to move it right here. Sorry about that.
I'm struggling to make my n-track setup work.
Quick description:
Asus PC Laptop PIV 2.4 MHz, 1 GB RAM, 80 GB 5400 rpm HDD + M-Audio Firewire 410 soundcard. SW= Cubase SX.
Want to make a good laugh?
A friend of mine set it up for me (hey, he runs a nice studio woth lots of digital stuff and is actually making very nice music indeed...) but him first and me afterwards both encoutered a very strange problem (prepare to giggle):
> 100 ms latency on MIDI, yes: MIDI!!! And 5 to 7-8 ms to audio signal. Ah, ah, ahh, ahh!!!
So, the question is: how is this possible? It sounds nonsense to me and I presume to all of us...
Can anybody lend me an hand to sort this crap out?
Thanks a lot -- Marco.
