Sorry about this newb question, but how do I use a midi keyboard for doing something like recording drum tracks? In fact, how is this keyboard used in the context of recording PERIOD?
I mean, I keep hearing about using this device for recording/playing drum tracks and triggering samples or whatever. I really have no clue as how I should go about using a piece of equipment like this.
Or if I even need one.
I realize there a probably a thousand different ways to use it, or how to apply it but...I'm just a guitar player, and I would really like to know about these things.
I like the idea of being able to do drum tracks possibly with it.
I have a drum machine (Boss DR-3), and it is nice, but I only use the pre programed sounds/beats in it and it's a little limiting. I can't bear the idea of having to figure out how to program my own drums for a song. I tried for a bit, and just got so frustrated with it, I haven't tried doing it again
So if you could shed some light on this, it'd be great.
Thanks
Rob
