I am soo new to this home recording thing and have lots of questions.

I have recently acquired an old Kaysound MK-4902 controller ( I will buy better equip when I figure this whole home recording thing out). My problem is that my manual is very vague and have no clue how to set this up with cubase; well, no, I mean I got it hooked up thru usb and can record and hear sounds thru various VST instruments but I don't know what to do on the keyboard itself. For example, how do I set up channels and programs?

Is there a general tutorual out there on how to set up channels or to teach you how to use program the controller?

Make any sense?

Appreciate any help!!

There may be, but it's not the controller that's typically programmed.

The controller does the programming and Cubase uses the traditional 'one soft synth per track' or 'one soft synth plus soft effects per track' user interface.

The Kaysound controller is still capable of sending out midi notes and in that regard is still a fully functional keyboard for use with Cubase.

If you've already got it making noise, then you've just got to decide what kind of noises you want it to make and listen to the various included soft synths that come with Cubase.

Here's a link to KVR where you'll find many more free and low-cost soft synths that will drop right in to Cubase.
