i have written a 2 bar phrase for a song im working on, and am using mda e-piano (free piano) plugin for recording this part. there is no latency issues when i play, however once i record the part it comes out different

by this i mean it seems to have left maybe 2 semi quavers here and there, it almost sound syncopated. i know it cant be latency as the recorded piece is in time and i have used other vsts to record with and they come out fine. maybe just the plugin i am using???

Questions

Which DAW software are you recording in?

You play while recording, okay, but then after it has been recorded, and you then hit the PLAY button, then you discover a "latency" problem? Am I understanding you correctly?

I need to know what Recording software you are using, to really be of help. Sounds like the notes you played get recorded just fine, but they do not line up correctly with other recorded music? If so, copy & paste (move) the clip to its proper position.

Sounds like you might have a "Quantize during Record" option enabled
It is quite possible that the software is automatically correcting the timing of notes for you...
