I have been using Reason Adapted and it is starting to make sense. I created a stereo aux track, then a stereo audio track, and finally a midi track to load the synth that I wanted to play. I used redrum to create the drum track and recorded it on audio track 1 in PT. Now, I want to use the combinator to add some melody along with the drum track. I created another audio track, record enabled it and proceeded to play the new sound. However, the output from Audio track 1 is being recorded on Audio track 2. I have tried to mute the Audio track and ensured that its output is not bused to the input of Audio track 2. I even tried to create a new midi track. What do I do? It has to be something simple.

Reason Adapted, like Reason, is a midi only application.

If I followed your post correctly you have not been able to get onto the second midi track and in my opinion the source of the problem is you're not content to leave midi tracks as midi tracks and allow them to run alongside the guitars, vocals, etc that you may have recorded in 'protools'.

Don't worry about converting the midi tracks from Reason Adapted into audio at any point before the final mixdown and your problem will be solved.

Thanks SSS,
You're right. I want to leave the midi tracks as midi tracks. However, if that's the case, then how am I going to use several midi tracks for one session? I like the different sounds in Reason Adapted and would like to use several of them for one session. All of which, I use my Roland D70 as a controller. Is is possible to use several MIDI tracks? If possible, would I have to create an Aux or Audio track for each midi track created? Thanks for your response.

I'm working on this same issue SFC...if I can resolve it, I will let you know.

I did notice that if you disable record on your first track, it does not get overwritten, but you still see the levels going up and down and hear the note. Its got something to do with assigning MIDI channels that you want to use...but again, I haven't figured it out yet either.

have you selected the output of the MIDI track to be Redrum? Then on the new one, selected Combinator?
