I'm a newbie at Cubase LE, and I was wondering can I easily change midi instruments. I have used Musicator before and its easy to assign different intruments....a quick look at Cubase has me wondering..a bit scary. Hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction..

Regards

F11 brings up your virtual instruments. Create midi track. Assign controller (scrol down menu) assign midi instrument (scroll down menu).

At least that's how it works in Nuendo. I have assumed they are similar.

My advice would be to load up on VST instruments (if you haven't already), rather than just general midi tones (though you can still certainly use those -- you'll need to make sure that midi is set up correctly in "Devices-->Device Setup-->MIDI"). There are plenty of freebies (google "VSTi" and whatever instrument you want) with great organ sounds and such. You unpack the downloaded files to your vst plugin folder and then they will be available as VSTi's in Cubase (under "Devices-->VST Instruments"). Load up a bank of VSTi's. Then, on your midi track, you can select the dropdown to assign one of the VSTi's to that track.
