I know virtually nothing about MIDI. I have Cubase 4le and I can get around on it pretty good. My question is this: Can I use my QWERTY keyboard to run Halion in Cubase? If so how do I set it up?

You can use QWERTY with ableton as well...only thing is why would you want to?
You can just about manage to put beats in with ease but there is no velocity control on PC keyboards...that means adjusting it all manually??
I just bought a LPK25 keyboard for my laptop...its tiny but works brilliantly for $70...I've just recorded an entire song using it and to be honest, unless you've got sausage fingers, you could use it in your home studio....
Get yourself a MIDI keyboard. There's so many on the market and they make musical life so much easier. MIDI is a complex beast, or it was for me. Five years in and I'm still on that learning curve. But at least I'm on it !
With my keyboard, I've painted all the note names on the keys.
