I know nothing of your world. I do a lot of audio recording and got it all down. I would like to use MIDI and learn it but have no idea where to start. Is there a certian software program I should use?
Here's what I got:
A cheapo $300 Casio keyboard (with MIDI out and in)
A MIDIMAN 1x1 USB
2 MIDI cables
Access to lots of software

Can someone guide me as to where to start. I would like to get different sounds other than the crappy ones inside of the Casio. And then I would need to learn how to record MIDI, but that I can probably figure out. First off, how to get it to make noise. Basically, I guess I just want to use the keybiard for a controller. Is this possible?

Any help out is wonderful and appreciated!
Thanks,
H2H :)

hi, sure its possible!
Go buy a sound module. Then run a midi cable from
the casio midi out to the modules midi in, and
thats it! play your keyboard, the module will
work, turn buttons on the module to get the
different sounds, and kick yourself for not having done
this sooner.
After that you can learn about software and sequencing, etc,
but right out of the box, you will have that module
working in two minutes, and will be having a blast.

Modules are so cheap right now, but some can really
sound killer. I bought a Roland JV1010 last week
for $399, and it sounds great. David
