I have Triton Studio as a master keyboard, and i have Roland VA76 that is connected with midi to triton: Triton MIDI out---> Roland MIDI In.
It works fine when i use just 2 of them.

But when i wanna record drums I wanna use padKONTROL. and that's when the problems begin.

I have: padKONTROL midi out -----> Triton midi in.
when i use padKONTROL to record into Triton, and use Triton's INTERNAL drum kits, it's ok.
But if I have a drum track in Triton set to EXTERNAL (to Roland), I have to 1)either use MIDI THRU (which causes all the other tracks inside TRITON set to EXTERNAL, not possible to hear). or
2)tap on the padKONTROL pads and not hear what i play.

Do i need some kind of midi splitter or something, (because sometimes I use multiple sound modules like a Computer...)?
or is there some kind of trick? or am i doing somwthing wrong?

Ok, i guess i need midi interface or splitter about 4X4 that will be able to work with or with out a computer. I searched and looks like all the interface are only for copmuter...
But is there somekind of midi interface/splitter that would be able to work with and with out a computer?

You could connect the padKontrol to the Triton's MIDI Thru, and that should work. However, I would suggest either a MIDI Merger or a multiport MIDI interface (which really are a MIDI Interface, MIDI Merger and MIDI Patchbay rolled into one) such as one of the MOTU MidiTime pieces or something from eMagic like AMT8.

The MIDIsport USB interfaces have a "thru mode" so they can be used w/o a computer. I use an 8x8 and configure the ports with MIDI OX, which is a really handy freeware, BTW.

I'd stay away from the Opcode. It was a great company and was the first to come out with multiport MIDI interfaces, but since the company doesn't exist anymore, if you have issues with the interface, you won't be covered.
