Hi everyone,
I have Cubase SE and a Boss DR-670. I'm using Cubase as the editor and just using the drum machine for sounds. I'm trying to set up a library of a few standard beats for future use.
I'm trying to do it in a multi-track sort of way so that I have the kick on one track, snare on another, etc.
Is there a way to change the program number on only one track, while leaving the others alone? For example, if I like the kick in kit 1 but would like to use the snare in kit 6 (or whatever), can I send a program change message just in the snare track while leaving the kick alone? So far I have been unable to do this; program change messages are applied "globally", so the kick changes with the snare even though that message is only on the snare track. Am I making sense?
As I'm typing this I'm starting to think that the only way to achieve what I want to do is to set up my own kits in the DR-670 with the sounds I want in them...say a "rock" kit, a "country" kit and a "jazz" kit, then create drum maps for each of them so I know what the sound will be when editing in Cubase.
I think I just answered my own question. Anyway, if anyone else has a better idea please let me know.
Andrew
