Midi "feedback"

I'm trying to record my V-Drums in Cubase SX.

Everytime I record a track, it sounds "doubled", as in the trigger gets hit twice everytime I hit it. I figure it's the midi hit going to the computer then coming back out into the module, a few nanoseconds later, giving that phasing thinness ...

I have found a way around it, but it's a pain and I doubt this is what everyone does when they record midi tracks : I simply disable the midiout in cubase before I track the drums, then reconnect it after the recording.

Is there another way? ie : The proper way?

Thanks in advance!

Are you talking about latency??

No, it's more like a chorus effect. I can tell it's doubled. You know? I'm getting phasing problems due to the fact that the drums are triggered by two sources, but I can't find where.

In cubase, each midi note is single. But when I play the midi into my V Drums, it sounds doubled. It's driving me crazy, and I can't figure out where it's coming from!

Thanks anyways!

Anyone have any ideas?

Make sure MIDI thru is on, and on whatever your MIDI device is, turn it to "Global Control:Off".

See if that helps and post back.
