MIDI Error (Recording In Place/Duplicate Data??)

Ok I've tried a ton, now I'm at the end of me teather...

Using CakeWalk Pro 9, when I attempt to record MIDI data from my keyboard all the data is recorded in place on the first beat of the first measure. [01:01:000].

I've tried altering many CakeWalk settings and none seem to work also I've attempted the same with the keyboard [Fatar SL-161] to no avail.

Other software demos i've tested record it correctly just not cakewalk....

What have I missed oh great ones!!!

Thanks in advance for any help....

Just noticed in MIDI-OX that whenever I press a key on the controller I get duplicate data.... so for every key i press....

I get two note on and two note off messages....

Does anyone else use a Fatar SL-161 and have they had similar issues or is this more basic then a controller issue and something else entirely??

I'm sure it's not common, and I knew Cakewalk shouldn't behave this way. I figure it must be either your MIDI port issue (hardware or driver), or the controller you use. For sure, have you uninstall & reinstall Cakewalk ? Or try in any computer else than your current DAW. What's the result ?

It's better to know your OS, PC specs & your MIDI port you use with Cakewalk. Include it with your post.

doh..

Yeah, had mean to include that all but it was late... anywho..

Turns out I had discovered what the issues was (sorta) last night after I posted I took another shot at it and found that Calkewalk err I mean Creative (:P) was causing problems.

I have an Audigy 2 Platnium card and it has two MIDI Ins.... which played together fine on the first one. However for whatever reason I'm going to assume it's driver related as that is typically the issue when it comes to creative products.

As long as both inputs were not selected they are fine.

I also noticed, (I need to start going to bed earlier) that I wasn't paynig attention in MIDI-OX and was looking at the OUT window and not the IN windows.... the Audigy 2 has two synths on it which both were selected so when a note trigger was sent it was of course gonna give me back two notes on the OUT. DUH!

Man i Need to stop drinking or drink heavier.....

Thanks for your help James... now I'm back on track to remix the theme from The Great American Hero!
