Hi guys, new here. Hope you can help me.

Now I'm unsure whether this is a problem would have more to do with Pro Tools than a MIDI problem but it's confusing me.

For some reason my electric kit won't seem to work properly with Pro Tools. Using MIDI by USB to computer, trying to use a drumkit loaded on the computer. When I hit the pad, it doesn't always seem to make Pro Tools output the noise every time, maybe about only a third of the time. Yet, from the MIDI input meter in Pro Tools, it is definately recieving signal for every single hit, just for some reason isn't outputting it most the time.

And when I record, it records every single MIDI note I hit on the kit, ones that I didnt hear myself play when recording it, and when I play it back through the drum program on Pro Tools, it works perfectly.

Now when I plug in a MIDI keyboard, it works perfectly. The input of the keyboard matches the output of the virtual drums exactly. It's rather wierd that the electric kit isn't doing the same.

Oh, and when I tried using EzDrummers DFH, the electric kit worked fine. Something in Pro Tools is limiting the 'real time' (Is that the right word?) MIDI sounds output?

Thanks gice, this problem is driving me insane, having to do keyboard drum parts when I have a freaking drumkit sitting next to me.

Sounds wierd. Did the pad come with its own midi drivers or is it plug and play? Check the Midi section in your Control panel and see if it is set properly. Also make sure the the Pad's configuration is set properly as well. Some instruments allow seperate MIDI and USB configs. I want to follow this thread.

Oh, I forgot to mention it's a Legend (Medeli) DD506 drum kit, it's plug and play. Not the best drumkit, but I haven't heard others have this problem.

I'll have another go at tweaking. And I'll also have another go and see if Cubase still works with it, I haven't tried the keyboard with it yet either.

edit: Only problem it seems I'm getting with DKFH is that I'm getting the Tom2/HiHat problem that everyone seems to get. Which is another problem, but I'll get on fixing that when I have it working with Pro Tools.
