and The Brain...
I have some midi drum packs/samples I've collected over the years, but was thinking maybe there's more definitive stuff out there I'm unaware of. It's tough sifting through the pile of midi I have since it's only loosely organized based on music style, and within each there may or may not be the time signature or fit/feel I'm looking for. Has any company put out a definitive midi drum pack?

I use Superior Drummer 2 and also have their EZ Metal add-on.

Programming drums by hand with a midi keyboard is tedious so I almost always start with a base midi tracks from my library and work from there. If I had the money I'd just get a midi drum kit like I had several years ago.

If you use SD....why not just get some MIDI packs from Toontrack. :)

They are on sale right now at Toontrack....but if you go through Audio Deluxe you can probably get them even cheaper.

I honestly didn't even consider them as a source for some reason, I've rarely gone into any of the online 'markets' for the apps I have. I'll check it out... :)

Okay, so they do have a decent selection of titles but scant details on what is actually in the midi pack:

I'm going to contact customer support to get more info.

Well, it looks like the grooves (and songs & grooves) packages have 5/4 and 7/8---but I don't have this package. I have the Steve Ferrone, which is all 4/4 and 3/4. It's pretty good bang for the buck---but I'm not the most experienced in this area. There's a detailed list of each groove/track included in the details section.

Paj,

Thanks Paj, combed through their offerings and there wasn't anything loaded with odd time signatures. Toontracks has one set with some odd signatures which I'll get, but it's only a handful total midi songs. I'm still looking although my options appear rather limited. Maybe I'll stumble on some more boutique developers like platinum samples...
