Hopefully someone can help me sort out what's going on here...
I created a sample drum kit, with different samples set to different velocities, hoping that I could randomize the velocity on a drum pattern so that it triggers off slightly different variation of each drum piece, adding a more "human" feel...
Now, when I open this kit & pattern in Battery (which is what I use by default), the velocity seems to have no effect whatsoever on which samples are being triggered - all it does it lower/raise the volume of the default (loudest/value 127) samples themselves.
Loaded in DR-008, the velocty triggers different samples as it should, BUT, it also plays each note for a 1 beat duration (which is how it was programmed as I was paying no attention to duration as I was using Battery which apparently ignores this).
So, can anyone tell me either how to get Battery to respond to velocity, or how to get DR-008 to ignore duration?
