Hello! I just bought a MIDI Controller although I am unfamilliar with MIDI. Tell me it is possible to play a software piano in real-time with this controller.

It is possible, if your soundcard has WDM or ASIO drivers, and your softsynth is hosted by an application that supports those drivers.
