So I have a project with multiple tracks, 2 of which are both generated by my Venom keyboard and are recorded as MIDI tracks.

Both sound great in and of themselves. The problem is when I attempt to play back or bounce to disk...I only hear one of the MIDI track synth sounds and not the other...my suspicion is that PT needs the synth to be on and have that custom sound turned on (synth single) in order to generate the sound intended since its just MIDI data otherwise, of course...but its not able to do both at once as needed...

Certainly there must be a way to render one of the files or bounce it and import it so this performance/sound is already set it stone and PT can reference the other as needed, right?

I have tried to bounce the track itself and then import it back into my project, but no audio was recorded...

A lil help for a noob anyone? I actually searched for new forums that were more active and helpful and this is my very first post here and hoping for the best..

-PT 8.5LE
-Venom M-audio keyboard
-Win7, SP1

If your synth can receive (and create audio) on 2 separate MIDI channels, then you can set each recorded MIDI track to send to the synth, but you are still going to need to record the audio from the synth back to audio tracks in your DAW, if you are attempting to use them for recording a song (not just for sequencing).

Well first off, HUGE THANKS for a thought out response!! I will try to better describe what im trying to do and seeing.

Basically, I have a PT session that I wish to have 2 separate recorded tracks that will be single synth sounds on the tracks, 2 separate synth singles.

What I am experiencing is when I record each of them separately, so far only experimenting with with recording as MIDI since it will provide the MIDI editor, and attempt to then play back the song, only one of the singles is audible which I think is due to PT only being able to hear one at a time due to it "hearing" it as a single instrument? This I dont know, but I suspect.

So ideally, I would be able to record one of the tracks, save it somehow in stone with that synth sound and then separately record the other so I, in the end, I have two separate tracks that contain the original intended sound/performance.

I understand that MIDI is just "data" and that I could load a similar synth sound and it will play along with the MIDI data I recorded from the original synth sound (experienced this before while trouble shooting this). So I essentially just need to somehow record this MIDI track and "capture" the performance so it is already a rendered track before I make the other one as to not confuse PT...but dont know how to do this.

I have attempted to even bounce to disk one of the tracks and then import it into the session. The problem is that I dont hear any audio at all when I play back the MIDI track I attempted to record and bounce to disk...and dont know why.

I hope this helps better explain my problem.

The specs on the Venom say it is "4 part multi-timbral" which means your keyboard will play 4 different instruments or "voices" at once, on 4 different midi channels.

You say you have two midi tracks recorded. Is each track set to play back on a different midi channel? For example, the piano on midi channel 1 and the bass on midi channel 2? Is your keyboard set to "multi mode" which may be necessary for it to receive more than one midi channel at a time? Are you routing all of the keyboard's audio back to PT or to some kind of outboard mixer so you can hear all parts playing?

If your PT is putting out all midi tracks at once, and your keyboard is set to receive on multiple midi channels at once, and you have some way to hear multiple audio voices at once, then you should be hearing both of your keyboard instruments playing.

Well I will be damned..between you and the other gent above, I have some digging to do now.

THANKS and THANKS guys. I will let you know the result of my success or doom.
