Midi Birth Issues

I am about to be born into the world of midi, and need to buy a soundcard as I only have a delta 66 at the moment. (I think of it as my placenta)

My question s are:

1. What sound cards are suitable to run alongside my current audio card (in the region of £200. I have heard good things about the Audiophile 2496)

2. Can I buy a dedicated midi card, or do they usually come with audio compatibility? Should I buy a dedicated Midi card?

3. I will be using a Yamaha keyboard as the trigger and will need to use soundfonts. Do I need a special card for this?

4. My headphones are currently plugged into my delta 66 breakout box. will I need a headphone amp to run the midi signal through so I can hear playback while recording? Does the midi soundcard play back recorded audio while I am laying down the midi part?

5. Can you reccomend some good software or plugins for some realistic strings (violin, cello etc) and good drums.

I am currently using XP; cubase sx, delta 66

Thanks a million!
Peace y'all...
