grumpy bastard
I am contemplating getting a lap top and a multi out sound card for live use instead of carting round a TB303 a TR808 and a keyboard what would any of you recomened?

Ableton live. Everyone I know who used to crate all their gear around just uses live instead. great program

if you plan on using sample loops, then yea Live would work great for a computer solution. for hardware, you might like the idea of using a Roland SP 808.

+1. Ableton Live is the way to go.

If you are willing to save alot of money for a little bit steeper learning curve, look into energyXT. I use it with my laptop live for eaxctly what you are talking about.

Q/ What is it like
Q/how easy is it to get your head around
Q/where can I get it from?

We use ableton live/reason and 2 m-audio keystation 46e's on 2 laptops with 2 m-audio firewire 410's.
Works great for us, runs loops, samples, sequences, synths and vst real time vocal effects.
