Grateful for any thoughts on song structure, composition, amount of guitar parts, influences, mix, background harmonies etc. Aware of some bum vocal notes in there! Cheers

Any thoughts, guys?
Ok I’ll jump in. I’m having trouble hearing the main and back up vocals clearly. I’m not sure how to correct it but the soundscape is pretty dense with a lot of strumming going on. I feel the snare is not quite prominent enough as it kinda drives things. Also the short melody breaks in a couple places are hard to pick out they’re not quite loud enough or they don’t have space to cut through. I’m listening with a pretty decent set of iem’s. I like the song it’s catchy
Cheers. Guy

Interesting - Great Song - Funny sound on the instrument tracks - I get the Chimey Guitar parts - but they are not shaped sonically to fit the song IMO - and did you try a Bagpipe or is that something else droning in the background - drums are way down - I don’t have a problem with hearing the vocals6 like @BTStudio did - I’m listening on headphones and high quality nearfileds - to be honest song is a sonic mess - but appealing due to the vocals.

Totally fair and constructive points there, thank you. The overdriven indie/grunge sound is one I'm a fan of, but it's not something I deliberately try to create. I just often end up there! Acoustic or two, clean chorus, chuggy rhythm, chiming arpeggios, and before you know it it's hard to pick individual things out. I do try and eq them on the Boss BR-800, and pan them over a bit (9/10 clock 2/3 o'clock) but it's hit and miss really. You record the individual tracks and it gets hard to let go of them, even if they are down low in the mix. That's something I will really try better at. The drum machine is on a loop and often then gets crowded out by the ever growing guitars. I can take all these points though, when looking at a remix. Cheers.

Thank you again, sir! See my points in the previous post on how I created this sonic mess! Just kidding, I get it, and am aware of how it got there. I will take all your points and try better when remixing. I'm a fan of electric overdriven songs in G, as that open string rings out and drones and fills in the spaces. That's probably the problem: overloaded tracks leaving no air for anything to sing out clearly and appealingly for the listener. That's due to a lack of confidence in the performance so I try to overcompensate. You are a discerning music fan and you've zeroed in on the song's production problems. I will try to address them. I am reassured that there is a decent song hidden in there and I will try to get it out. Cheers.

Cool groove and feel to the song.

The guitars seem really bunched up in the 2K-5K range. They're covering the vocal. I'd go with a completely different guitar sound. Like a classic Marshall crunch sound. Get it out of the vocal space and in a lower register.

The vocal sounds decent to me. I would lower the doubled part quite a bit. It gives the vocal a mushy, indistinct sound.

The bass sounds pretty good to me.

The kick is all low end. I can barely hear the snare.

Those guitars are causing all kinds of problems. They're covering most everything above 500hz. Nothing is distinct - it's all mushed together.

It's a pretty cool song tho.

Catchy, driving song. I like the vocal delivery and the sound of them. I agree with others, the 'chimey' guitars are bit too high frequency. Not knowing what they sound like, un-EQ'd, it's hard to say how to fit them in the mix. Changing the EQ would be a starting point I suppose.

I'd double the distorted guitar parts, pan, and make them more of the forefront of the rhythm.

Energetic song!

I'd clip gain the vocals so that they started and ended at the same time - right now, they're a bit staggered sometimes. Eg 'is' @ 0.18 and 'you' @ .39/40. Others have mentioned the guitar sound - you might get away with it if you played a lot less of it, for instance, five 1/16th notes at the beginning of every bar - ba da da da da!

Nice tune, good feel.
