Hey there..im looking to save up for some mics, in the future..so im making a list of what i need. With this thread im asking for some input on the mics chosen for each task they'll be performing.
Drums:
Snare-Audix i5 or SM57
Toms-AKG D 22(3)(Good or bad for toms?)
Overheads-MXL 993(2)
Kick-Either Audix D6 or F14...should i save up for the d6, or is the difference between the two not so big that i should save the extra 100 for the d6?
Guitar Amps:
e609 or xm57...looking for crunchy pop-punk warm distorted tones..which suites better? and i was thinking about also throwing an AT2020 to mic it as well, for ambience.
Vocals:
Sm58 for live, AT3060 for studio use(saw one of my fav. singers using it to do a home recording, and it sounded great on his voice...but how does the AT4040 sound in comparison?
Any suggestions? Im not looking to spend over like 500 on any particular mic..and im looking to spend less, but not drastically cheap.
