Slow Children Playing
I tried some searches. didn't turn up what I was looking for. I know this isn't recording-related. I was just wondering if anyone had some recomendations for live vocal mics. Is a beta 58 about as good as it gets under $200?
I have been using a 58 for about 20 years now and I recently heard a live gig recording that was less than flattering. I am kind of a rock and roll shouter. A tenor. I can sing in the higher range and at times the 58 can get a little thin sounding. I am looking to avoid the use of outboard treatments. Just looking for a decent, sturdy vocal mic that might have a better frequency response for someone whose voice may be a bit thinner.
Would using my mic preamp help to warm up the 58's sound any, or just boost gain?
I appreciate any advice offered. I am pretty confortable with my guitar playing, but my voice was a little weaker than I thought it was.
