mics are like donuts...

I've had a few artists "powder" their lav mics (for live stuff obviously) in the dressing rooms before a show... they seemed to work fine... maybe we're talking about different powders though...

Damn straight, I heard about them on a thread yesterday, and now my first one is in the mail. I didn't even have to say it, just thought about it...

Then I told my friends that I ordered "shiny box" over the interweb, and, boy, didn't I get some weird looks...

My flatmate was bit worried when I said I put his name on the packing slip as well (I'm rarely home, so my flatty sign for a lot of my gear- I'll be damned if I have to wait a second longer than I have to for new gear...)

Anyway, that's my little story about doughnuts...
 
Has anyone tried the Buvarian Cream filled microphones?

They're a great way to fatten up your sound.

Cool! Which ShinyBox ribbon did you order?
 
Just the 23 to get a general idea of the sound. If I like it I'm going to save up a bit and get myself a 23L... they just look too cool not to own...


And what a name...shinybox... the man's a marketing genius...
