As a disinterested 3rd party, "new" means from the store or factory. It doesn't mean used, tested, or mint.
Very often, the warranty is void unless presented by the original purchaser with original receipt. This is what "new" is all about. Paying new price for used (no warranty) equipment is a poor business decision.
Used gear is worth typically 66% of new-discount price. Even if the used gear is kept in a mink lined box. Some used grear brings far higher prices than the 66% rule of thumb. QSC power amps, for example. Other gear (Rane) brings FAR less than the 66% rule.
