What is the difference between a Shure PG57 and an SM57? If I were to use an SM57 for recording guitar amps, would I be able to notice a difference between using that and using a PG57 to record guitars?

The PG mics are Shure's cheaper mics... and the PG57 and SM57 sound completely different from each other.

Why did you call this thread "microphones"? Since this is the microphones forum, all the threads should be about microphones. Why not "PG57 vs. SM57"? You'd probably get a lot more responses.

when there is a cheap and an expensive version of a microphone you don't have to be a genius to figure out which one is the best.
