Hi!
Im searching for good mics for use at a theater stage for an school theater.
Thats the first problem: the have to be as cheap as possible.
We have already 5 AKG C1000s but they´re awful, feedbacks and bathroomsound are preassigned!
What about the t.bones EM700, SC140 or the EM800? Some of them usable? Or are they any other mics recommend?
The area of the stages are about 24m². Its able to hang the mics up into the traverse.
thanks a lot!

PS.:Sry for my bad english! ;)

For hanging? Choir mics. Plenty of them if you can. The 'cheapie' ones are reasonable (at best). The 'better' ones (the AT's in the $300-ish range) are far (FAR) superior and are just plain impressive sounding for what they are.

Hanging regular mics over a stage pointing down isn't going to help much. You're going to pick up clapping, stomping - any sound coming from the floor going up. The human voice is directional... Unless they're all looking up at the mics, the mics are worthless. Enter the choir mic - Smaller, lower, aimed at 'head-level' from the grid. You might actually be able to push a little gain and at the very least, they'll be in front of the sound you actually want to hear.
