Microphones and commercials?

what is with all of the commercials lately (5 or 6) with microphones in them and a couple of others in a recording studio?

A few with Shure, A few with Neumann, An other with Sennheiser.

Seems like all of these endorsement deals are going on with microphone manufacturers.

I like the "Compare the Meerkat" ads in the UK with a Meerkat soundman complete with mic. on a fishpole.
