Microphone

I just recently bought a mic a Shure SM58 after reviewing and finding out this would be good for what I use it for. I go on Singsnap. it's a karaoke program. I have a mixer too. The mic worked beautifully for about a month and now my voice is breaking up when I play back. I use cut off panty hose to cover it and I don't know if it's the mic, the mixer or maybe I need a new cable hookup. could you please help me?

Take the panty hose off. It's creating static.

The thong is ended but the malady lingers on!
