Microphone Stands

What are good cost efficient mic stands? I mean basic boom stands for micing cabs and drums and such... What are good mics for overheads also. I don't want something that isn't sturdy or cheap quality. Are sam ash/guitar center ones ok? I have a "grooves percussion" boom now and it seems to be ok but I want to see if I could get some online better quality for a decent price.!

Take a look at the stands by Tama. I was very impressed with the quality and construction of there stuff. I have 8 or 10 of their stands. I think they are about $50 (US) each. If you have used their drum hardware and like it, these wouldn't disappoint you.
