Hey guys,

I'm trying to repair an old mic I have (Optimus 33-3018, a cheap radio-shack microphone) that hasn't worked for a long time now. It has an On/Off switch and a "built-in" cable. The problem is that I get 0 ohm resistance between the positive and the negative wire, no wonder what position the switch is on...

Now the question: does that mean that the cable is faulty?

(I took appart the whole switch mechanism and it's fine. It's awfully cheap stuff, but it's working)

Thanks!

If it's shorted even with the switch off, then yeah, it's probably the cable.
