Okay I have a Presonus Audiobox USB...it has a pre amp...Should I get another pre amp to daiseychain with it? Whats the best type of pre amp to use for recording vocals and does it make that much of a difference? I also have a MXL large diaphram condenser mic and a sure PG30...Thanks:D

You only want one preamp in the chain. The purpose of a preamp is to boost the low mic-level signal to the higher line-level standard. Once it's line level, you don't want to boost it any more. What you can do is buy a nicer preamp than what's in the presonus, and run the outputs into the line-in's, not the mic input. That's if you dont like the presonus preamp for some reason. Presonus pre's are actually pretty good, there's a LOT of worse pre's out there. You're probably better off getting better mics first if you're using pg's and 990's.
