Microphone Cables - Lo-Z & Hi-Z

Hi,

I recently purchased a AT2020 & a ART Tube MP. Im still waiting for them to be delivered.

My question is about what cables to get. I was browsing through the Mic cables on the Guitar center site and there're Low-Z & HiZ cables. And i dont know which one to pick.

This is my setup is going to be like...

MIC --> ART Tube MP --> TAPCO MIX60 --> M-Audio Audiophile 192

Can anybody please advise me on cable selection for this? First from the mic to the pre and to the mixer to the interface.

You want the Low Z. For two reasons. First, that mic is a low Z mic. Second and most important, it needs phantom power from the preamp to work and that will only be available on the Low Z input.

hey thanks so much for the quick response. Ok so Lo-z for the Mic input and and phantom power from the Pre. What do i need from there onwards till it reaches the interface?

It can just be regular 1/4 cable from there. Depending on the input/output jacks of the following gear in your line T/R or T/R/S.
