hey everyone i just got the korg microkirg and downladed the sound editor from the korg website and i get an error saying device not connected when i open the program. i am using a midi to usb cable which is being recognized by the program so im not sure what the problem is.

maybe the settings on the keyboard are supposed to be set to something different.

i figured i would ask you guys before asking korgs tech service

Did you run the install CD that came with the MicroKorg?

If the MicroKorg is not registering with the software that's made for it, that's the first place I would look.

If the MicroKorg is properly installed and registers in your sequencer but not in the editor then I would suggest you call Korg.
 
actually i bought it as a floor model from a shop that closed recently and they didnt give me any cd with it.

so i guess im screwed?

unless someone can send me the drivers
 
Here's a link to the computer editor that you didn't get. I'll let you search around the Korg web site for the most current drivers.

i do have the sound editor already thats what i was talking about in the original post.

but when i start up the program it says:

ERROR: No device found, check midi settings.

and when i check the midi settings, it shows the usb/midi cable i am using.

so its picking up the cable but not the actualy synth
 
So you can record from the MicroKorg into a sequencer, but when you try to use the computer editing program you get an error message, right?

If that's the case there could be many problems and therefore many different solutions --- too many to take stabs in the dark at.

Contact Korg -- it probably won't cost you anything but time if the board is still under warranty...

ok so i uninstalled the sound editor and reinstalled it and made some changes to the hardware properties and it fixed it.

Hi, I would be so grateful to you if you explained to me what exactly did you change as to fix your problem, as I've had the same exact problem with my microkorg!!
