Should I use Clips or Stands ?. Most pictures I see in Studios are on stands. Would Clips work?

Clips opens up all kind of potential problems with rattling and/or excessive resonance or unwanted noise from the drums/hardware that can cause headaches in the more sensitive studio environment as opposed to what you can get away with live. If you have the choice, stands are the way to go for recording. Clips are great for stage because they take up less real estate up there and pack away in less space which is a plus and the drums are usuaully gated in a proper live setting where they won't be such a nuisance.

Not to mention...
some engineers are kinda funny about trusting their 10 pound, 12000 dollar studio-grade mics to 3 ounces of plastic, and springs dangling off a drum rim.
