Hi,
If I recall correctly there was a post on this forum about micing an amp with a computer mic. I remember the guy that wrote it posted a sound clip and it was awesome. Does anyone have the link to it?
Unless it was on another forum.
Thanks

It's not a PC mic, it's a Radio Shack unidirectional mic.

If you read the post, he comments that desktop computer mics will "distort like crazy".

You can't get good tone from a $2 desktop PC mic.

No, but there is a BIG difference between one of these and a desktop mic.
The difference is that most of the Radio Shack mic's are made by Shure.

I liked the tone I was getting out of my $2 mic just fine. :D

To each his own. As long as you like it that's all that should matter to you anyway, right? After all, you can't please everybody...

That sounds like a challenge! :D

I'm half-temped to offer a great band a free recording to allow me dick around recording them with a $2 mic all day... I'm more than a little currious what could be done.

ive recorded a whole son with just computer mics even drums... if ud like to listen go to this bands page www.myspace.com/tomorrowwasyesterday1 the song "make it emo and ki....." was recorded with just computer mics im the drummer for the band wat i did was get 5 computer micsand buy the splitters to be able to put all 5 mics in the one mic jack in the computer

Radio Shack sells a PZM microphone that was designed by CROWN.
This Mic sells for about $50 and sounds very good for some things.

Maybe this was the mysterious microphone used.
