Yesterday my pair of Rode NT2's came back from Michael Jolly. The result is astounding! It even makes just talking sound musical!

Anyone out there on a budget; get a Rode NT1 / NT2. It sounds roughly like a Neumann TLM 103, which is useful enough until you saved up for the mod.

I would have never been able to afford a mic of this quality. I'm a happy boy! :D

Hey Chris ..... Michael sure puts out a nice product huh!

I have a bunch of Rode, MXL and Oktava microphones that have been modified by him and those microphones are simply the greatest.

Yeah, I modded a pair of Oktava MK012's and a pair of Apex 205 ribbons to his specs, with great results. (Although I can't get the 1.8 micron ribbons for the Apex's, anyone?).

So I figured it was time I'd pay him for something... you know...

The results on these Rode's surpass the other mods. I'm blown away.

Chris look in the DIY forum.
I remember people posting where to get the material. I think it was mshilarious and someone else talking about the aluminum but you still have to corrugate it.

Yes, as I recall I was pointed in the direction of Michael a while ago, by a superb engineer who has a fascination with old and/or cheap mics. Most of his mics have been modded to some degree and the majority of those by Michael. It is possible I've got the wrong name though :/
